My husband and I always knew that we wanted to adopt, so when we finally felt the lord leading us to Liberia in 2007 we were thrilled. With 2 biological boys at home, we thought that we would like to have a little girl this time around, so we set out with an agency called Acres of Hope.  In December of 2006 we were happy to accept the referral of a 2 year old little girl. We were shocked 4 months later when we discovered our daughter had a sister, and we felt God wanted us to adopt her as well. We trusted God with the details and agreed that Aries would come to America as well!

Unfortunately in September 2007 when our children were taken in for their visa interview, the consulate found some inaccuracies in their paperwork and denied our children's visas. Still on the US side, we were shocked and scared that our children would never get home, so off to Africa I went to fight for our children. After a 6 week stay, I found out that the girls were not sisters after all, and we prayed for God's guidance. While in Liberia I had the chance to meet a very special little boy that was in heart failure. He captured my heart, and it became clear that God had brought me to Liberia for a reason.

We felt God telling us that Darling Boy was meant to be our sons so we made the heartbreaking decision to let one of our girls go to another family so that he could come to the US for lifesaving heart surgery. We have been home almost 2 weeks now, and we are so happy with our miracle family, orchestrated by God Himself.
We just wanted to say a huge thank you to Hadassah's hope for helping make one girl's dream come true, and for giving life to a very special little boy.

"22But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves.
27Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress
and refusing to let the world corrupt you." James 1:22, 27 (NLT)
