Thank you for your prayers and support of Hadassah’s Hope. It has been an amazing year for us and the involvement with orphans throughout the world. As you know already, Hadassah’s Hope is actively involved in improving the lives of orphans. Many of you helped in some way as we prepared for and then finally went to Kazakhstan this last August. We want to update you on what happened on that trip where we led a team of 45 people from California to Almaty, Kazakhstan. While there we handed out humanitarian aid, and invested in the lives of the children in Kazakhstan.
Prior to arriving in Kazakhstan, we were able to send two containers packed full of beds, cribs, cloth diapers and toys for the children at the orphanage. In addition to this we were able to send a large playground structure that was installed at a baby house in the local women’s prison. This new structure would be a great place for mothers to bond with their children and spend precious time in a fun, safe environment. When we arrived in Kazakhstan in August, our team hit the ground running. About 30 individuals from our team of 45 went to the orphanage to begin unpacking the container and putting together the beautiful beds and cribs for the children. They were able to run a week long Vacation Bible School, where the kids learned crafts, songs and stories. Another 10 individuals went to the local women’s prison and joined a team of inmates to begin the playground for the children from birth to age 3 “doing time” with their moms.
For the 10 days that the team was in Kazakhstan, it was amazing to see the opened doors and events that God had taken care of to enable us to help out wherever was necessary. We have been invited to come back and work in other regions in Kazakhstan. It is exciting to see the opportunities that have been laid before Hadassah’s Hope to continue in orphan care. In addition to all of this activity in Kazakhstan, we were able to host our first fundraiser for Hadassah’s Hope through a Benefit Dinner, the first week of November. The night was filled with silent auction bidding, raffles and the hilarious comedy of Carlos Oscar. It was a great time to let everyone know what we are about and what our vision is in the realm of orphan care. The event was an excellent closing to a fabulous year in service. Thanks to all of you were able to attend and make the night a huge success.
We appreciate your support and prayers. It is through this that Hadassah’s Hope will be able to continue the vision set before us to help families and take care of orphans. Grateful for your support & prayers,
